Scared of my own shadow....Really!
Its been so crazy in the last week I haven't gotten to blog and I'll be honest--I've missed it. At the the end of last week, I had to go to Murfreesboro for meeting with TAB (Tennessee Association of Broadcasters). Of course while I was in the 'boro' I had to go shopping. Yea, I probably spent too much--but hey, it happens! I had a great weekend--got to spend some time with the family and still had time for some much needed R&R. I'm just hoping this weekend will be calm, I reeeeeally need the rest. I've put in a few 16+ hour days this week. ZzZzZzZzZzZz...Oh Sorry, I dozed off for a second :)
So I sort of feel like an idiot because I scared the bejeezus out of myself the other night while working one of the stated long days. I was the only one in the building and was getting ready to walk out the front door----keep in mind its like midnight at this point. I forgot I needed to run back into the studio for something that I had forgotten. I go get the items from the studio, go back to my desk for my keys and head to the door...
<Side Note> Our office is setup where you go through the front door and then you enter through 2 doors that close off the conference room. The doors that close off the conference room have sectioned-glass in them.
Back to the story...
I'm headed out the door and "AHHHH" I screamed and jumped. While walking out the door, a shadow moved across the conference room doors. Obviously, I was freaked out. I turned around as fast as possible to see who was behind me---cause its not very common that there are many (if any) people in the building at midnight, minus anyone that is on-air. Well I come to the conclusion that there is NO ONE around. So my goosebumps and the 150 beats of my heart per minute were all my fault due to me seeing my own shadow. Let's just say it's probably a good thing they don't use me as Punxsutawney Phil on Groundhog's Day...

Monday....again?!

Yep, its true. I overslept this morning....which rarely happens. I've decided if I could go without sleep 24/7-I would do so. Only because I feel like I can be much more productive if I never sleep. But, beauty sleep calls and I must answer. What can ya do?
I started reading a book last night that my roommate recommended. I'm not going to give any details just yet because I want to get my thoughts on it first. (mainly so I don't look like a complete idiot if I have the totally wrong judgement on the book).
I had a semi-slow weekend---which, I might add, is totally okay with me! My Aunts brought my cousins to town to visit with my grandma. That was a lot of fun getting to hang out with them. They are 7 and 2--needless to say, I was on the move the entire time I was with them. I'm still doing all my running/workout routines== a few of us (a few being Mary Mac, our friend Nikki, and myself) plan to be in "Guido" shape by Halloween. That's all I'm saying about "Guido" shape--it'll have to be a surprise. AND now that I've given you a hint to Gudio shape-you'll have to keep reading to find out all the details of our little plan along the way. I'm just sayin' --being in "Guido" shape AND around the time of Halloween-- you might figure it out, hint hint again. Gotta say I'm pretty motivated to get in great shape--some of you might know or might not know--I've got congenital heart disease, it's called Aortic Stenosis. It basically means a valve in my heart doesn't open and close correctly so I've always had to be very careful with physical activity. When I started running about a month ago it was a lot to jog a mile all at once....now, I'm jogging 3! I've got a goal set to hopefully run in the 5K that happens during Fall Fun Fest--just got to keep working. Obviously, the main goal is just being in great shape. To many people, it probably seems like a lot of work to get up and work out or go run/jog/walk but it makes me feel sooo much better. Let's face it, I'd be sitting on the couch checking Facebook otherwise (which I still have time to do!) Okay now that I feel like I've had my Chuck Norris Health Tip Rant for the day=I should probably get back to work! Have a great Monday! Until tomorrow...
Be good--Don't do anything I wouldn't do!

Celeb-REALITY

OKAY....Let's try this again....
I'm somewhat frustrated! This is now the 3rd time I've tried to create my blog for today. The first time the internet unexpectedly shut down on me...The second time it never uploaded. **This time I'm determined to make it work** Now, what just hit me was--if this doesn't post--no one is truly reading this post and I'm talking to myself.
All I've heard all day is "It's Friday the 13th". Whoopp te do! What's so bad about it? To me--its just another Friday. The best part is that IT'S FRIDAY!! Excited much?? YES!
Yesterday was quite a busy day. We hosted a luncheon for our clients who had purchased sports advertising packages at Beef O Brady's. Our special guest speaker was Bob Kesling--the play-by-play announcer for the UT Volunteer football team. Then last night, several of us went to Cookeville Regional Medical Center's Celebrity Dinner. They always host this dinner one night of their annual golf tournament. The celebrity was Bruce Jenner. Bruce was an Olympic gold medalist in decathlon in the 1976 Summer Olympics held in Montreal. Bruce is also the stepdad of Khloe, Kim, Kourtney, and Rob Kardashian and stars in the E! reality series Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Bruce made a great speech about the willpower it took to get to his gold medal status. It was actually pretty inspiring....and he's a lot taller than I thought he would be! We all had a great time. We got our picture taken with him and got autographs. I also won a door prize (which is unusual for me to be that lucky haha). I won an autographed collector's card of Bruce from the year he won the gold medal that he had signed--pretty cool! It was a busy but great day!
So, now it's the afternoon of Friday and I've got two things to figure out: First-what am I doing this weekend? Second-Why in the world am I still at work?!
Hope you all have a great weekend. We'll catch up Monday...or maybe before then!
Be good...Don't do anything I wouldn't do!

Oops!

Sorry its been a few days since I've blogged. It's been kinda hectic this week! Of course, Monday night Mary Mac and I hosted the Fairest of the Fair at the Putnam Co. Fair. I had a blast! Congrats to Tiffani Milligan and the rest of the young ladies who won! I've gotta say thanks to Beauty Queens Boutique at Merle Norman and Millennium Tanning for the hookup for the night! Mac and I were looking super sharp in our get ups--and looking quite tan! It did last quite a while, but I think everyone seemed to enjoy the night......especially when some of the girls and the escorts started dancing on stage. If you were there when Mac and I talked about going to Taco Bell---Sadly, I didn't get to go. I went home and went straight to bed! (I know, lame!)
Yesterday we had another TTU Purple Pride Caravan. This week we were at Save-A-Lot in Gainesboro. Football practices and walk-throughs started this week so Head Coach Watson Brown wasn't in attendance. BUT many others from the TTU Athletics family showed up including Men's Basketball Coach Mike Sutton and Assistant Coach DeAntoine Beasley with some of the team, Softball Coach Tory Acheson and Terry Acheson, and Women's Basketball Assistant Coach Stacey Franklin. I have to give kudos to Athletic's Director Mark Wilson and Director of Corporate Sales and Marketing Misty Pearson AND their staff (Dexter, Tyler, Allison, and Megan) for a job well done at all of these caravans! If you haven't been to a caravan---you need to get off your lazy butt and get to one!! They're lots of fun--FREE FOOD!! Hotdogs and Pepsi products! Plus a voucher for 2 tickets to any home game this year, season ticket applications, balloons, stickers, and more! We always have a giveaway for some autographed gear whether it be a football helmet, jersey, basketball, or t-shirt! Next Tuesday we'll be in McMinnville at Save-A-Lot from 4-6pm.
Okay, I've blabbed...or typed...enough for today. It seems as though I've got a millions things to do....OH wait, I really do! Oops!
-Be good, Don't do anything I wouldn't do!

From Clumsy to Accident Prone...
So yesterday's blog was about me being clumsy here lately. Today's blog: Accident Prone. I don't know what the deal is! Here's how the cookie crumbles-----
Yesterday afternoon--Tia and Tyler (Account Executives at the station) were creating some tickets that we are using for a giveaway. Well as you know, after tickets are made and they have to be cut properly and all that fun stuff. Tyler decided  he would use scissors as Tia stated she would use one of those Paper Cutters (its like the board with grids on it and has the arm you raise up and down to cut the paper). First off--the said paper cutter has a terrible smell that we have NO idea what causes it. Bad rubber on the handle? Too many years of use? Who Knows?! Besides the smell, it has another downfall: it makes lots of noise. With Tia's help, I decided I would find some WD-40 to spray in the arm to help with the loud sound. I find the WD-40 and go back to the paper cutter. I was joking with Tia saying, "I'll probably cut my finger off". Well that was my first mistake because that statement was almost true. No, I didn't slam the sharp arm down on my finger. Instead, I lifted the arm so I could get to the area that needed the spray---like the doofus that I am, I picked my hand up reeeeally fast and *SLICE*--I cut the ring finger of my right hand just on the knuckle. Although it wasn't a long cut, it was somewhat deep. Tia and I laughed and decided I didn't need stitches. Tia came to my aid and brought this super bandaid to fix my bloody finger! The story gets better! At home, I was making dinner and as I was cutting the chicken *SLICE*. <Just Sayin' A few explicit words were thrown in there>. Another bandaid in the making. I plan on calling the brand BandAid  to see if I could be their new spokesperson. I've got a theory that last week I was clumsy and fell twice--this week I cut myself twice. SO, next week I'll win the lottery, twice? I can dream right?
